We’re so glad you’re here!
Congratulations on taking the first step! We know that any new endeavor can be intimidating so we’ve put together a few notes to get you started on the right foot…
Be Punctual
This means you should aim to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of class. It can take time to sign in, change, get situated, turn off and store your mobile device, and get in the right mindset. Additionally, our doors lock five minutes after class starts, so we don’t want you to arrive just to turn around and head home.
Wear Comfortable Yoga Clothing
This doesn’t mean that you need to wear yoga-specific tights or a top – just dress so that you’ll be comfortable moving around and keep in mind you may get sweaty.
Introduce Yourself
Beyond getting to know your teacher's name, it is important that you share any specific goals and disclose any injuries to the teacher so that she / he can help to modify poses for you where safety is a concern.
What to Expect - Hot or Not
Our hot room is heated to 95 degrees for hot sculpt classes and 102 degrees for hot yoga classes. Plan accordingly. Hydrate adequately before class. Bring plenty of water, a sweat towel and yoga mat designed for lots of sweat (we have mat and towel rentals). If heat is not your thing, consider trying an unheated sculpt or yoga class first.
It's Okay to Take a Break
Yoga can be challenging! We encourage you to take breaks and drink water as needed.
Clean your Immediate Area
Congratulations - you did it! Chances are that at the end of class, you might need to tidy up your space. This could be through spraying and wiping down your mat with cleaner or through ensuring that you take your water bottle back out with you. Showers are available after class but please be mindful that other students may be waiting to use the shower as well.
Fusion Yoga offers new students two weeks of unlimited yoga for $40 along with our standard class pass options. This is to encourage you to try the many different teachers and varieties of yoga that our studio offers.
