Deb Connelly is a registered yoga teacher and is certified in Yoga 4 Cancer (Y4C) and Sound Healing Meditation with studies in Thai Yoga Bodywork at Tin Thai School of Nuad Borarn. She completed over 600 hours of yoga teacher training and workshops. Her teachings integrate numerous modalities to balance the mind, body, and hear connection to strengthen the nervous and immune systems allowing the body to function as it was designed to promote natural healing. Deb teaches yin yoga, a passive practice targeting the fascia and connective tissue and the subtle energy in the body; flow yoga, an active practice targeting the physical body; adaptive yoga, yoga for all ages and abilities; and sound healing meditation to promote deep relaxation, stress reduction, and mind detoxification for physical, mental, and emotional wellness. Private and group sessions are available.
Deb flirted with yoga in college and was drawn to the practice when she was training for her first marathon. After finishing this in Dublin Ireland, Deb became a certified yoga teacher and went on to finish the Chicago Marathon. Deb's unique approach incorporates her studies in numerous modalities with the modern application of yoga asana to help students develop their practice and empower them with education. Her future research goals include the adaptive effects of asana and sound healing meditation on tissue behavior and the subtle energy in the body for special populations - including cancer patients and survivors; aging adults; and individuals with symptoms associated with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and autism.
